Zsolt — your guide

About me

Meet Zsolt

Hi, I’m Zsolt — the guide and the driving force behind these Cyprus jeep safaris. Originally from Hungary and now based in Paphos, I’ve spent years getting to know every gorge, mountain track and hidden beach this island has to offer.

Every tour runs with a Hungarian-speaking guide, in both English and Hungarian, because the best days out come from a guide who genuinely loves where they’re taking you — and if you’re booking a group of three or more, you can ask for me personally. Whether it’s the turquoise water of the Blue Lagoon, the forest trails of Troodos or the wild Akamas coast, you’ll get the real Cyprus — good food, great stories and a few places the big coaches never reach.

Come along for the ride — I can’t wait to show you around.

The real Cyprus, off the main road

Jeep safaris across Paphos, the Akamas & Troodos

Cyprus packs an astonishing amount into a small island, and the best of it sits just off the tarmac. From Paphos, a short drive brings you to the rugged Akamas peninsula — the Edro III shipwreck, the towering walls of Avakas Gorge and the golden sand of Lara turtle beach — then up into the cool pine forests and stone-bridge trails of the Troodos mountains.

Travelling by 4x4 with a local means you reach the quiet corners the coaches can’t — and you hear the stories behind them. On the Jeep’n’Deep – Blue Lagoon tour you even swap the jeep for a boat, cruising out to swim in the famous turquoise water of the Blue Lagoon. Every tour includes hotel pickup and stops at a traditional taverna where you can have lunch (optional, paid separately), and there’s always a Hungarian-speaking guide with you in English and Hungarian — request Zsolt himself for groups of three or more.

Common questions

Is lunch included?
No — lunch isn't included in the tour price, it's always an optional extra. Every tour stops at a traditional Cypriot taverna where you can have a proper lunch if you'd like, paid separately on the day. The Akamas Land Tour finishes at the Last Castle restaurant, and the Troodos day also has a brunch stop in Salamiou and a taverna stop at Fioni. Just tell me in advance about any allergies or vegetarian/dietary needs and the taverna will sort it out.
What language are the tours in?
Every tour runs with a Hungarian-speaking guide, in both English and Hungarian — not a contracted group driver, so whichever you're more comfortable in is how your day runs. Zsolt, the owner, isn't on every departure, but if you're booking a group of three or more you can request him specifically.
Do I pay by card when I book?
There's no card payment on the site. Booking is a “request to book”: you send your dates and party size, I hold your seats and confirm personally. To secure your date I ask for a small €10 deposit by Revolut, and you pay the balance on the day. It's a friendlier, lower-commitment way to book than prepaying the full amount through a big platform.
Are the tours suitable for children and families?
Absolutely — all three tours have child pricing, and the Blue Lagoon boat (the Nafsika II) even has a water slide. Do bear in mind the 4x4 tracks are bumpy and dusty, Avakas Gorge has slippery wet sections, and Lara and the open coast are real sea, so keep an eye on little ones and bring sun protection and swimwear.
